The General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments (Awqaf), as part of its Ramadan programme for the U.A.E. President's guest scholars, has hosted a forum on investment of endowments in modern times, at the St Regis Abu Dhabi Hotel.
The forum saw prominent scholars, including the head of Mauritania's highest authority for iftaa (religious ruling) Shaikh Mohammad Al Mukhtar Ambala, Professor of Sharia at Morocco's University of Al Karaouine, Mohammed A Qarat, lecture on the benefits, rules and controls of endowment in modern times.
The participants also highlighted the history of endowment as a service for all members of the society, and explained that Islam promoted development and innovation in all spheres including economy.
Shaikh Ambala prayed to Allah Almighty to reward the wise leadership of U.A.E. and the nation's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for backing and promoting the culture of endowment for the benefit of all.
