Egypt's awqaf ministry bans political activities inside mosques

The Ministry of Awqaf decided on Sunday to form a committee under Dr. Khaled Hamed, the under secretary of the ministry, to monitor any electoral violations at mosques.
A statement issued by the Ministry said the aim of the committee was to prevent any propaganda for the coming parliamentary elections inside the mosques.
The statement called for abstaining from any political activities in the mosques to maintain their holiness.
