Egypt condemns cultural vandalism

Egypt’s Culture Ministry has condemned acts of vandalism carried out on cultural and historical sites in cities across the country. “The Ministry has followed unfortunate events witnessed on statues and symbols of national arts and culture,” the department said in a statement on Sunday. The statement denounced “criminal acts,” claiming they contravened Islamic and even humanist values.
