Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab
Cairo - MENA

The Cabinet under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab approved on Wednesday a presidential bill amending some provisions of the Antiquities Protection Law.

Observations of the Deference and Awqaf ministries were taken into consideration.

The new bill suggested replacing the "Ministry in charge of antiquities' affairs" phrase with the "Culture Ministry" phrase, and the "Antiquities Minister" phrase with the "Culture Minister".

Under the new bill, the Antiquities Ministry was given the right to control monuments stored at ministries and governmental institutions.
