
Algerian visual artist Driss Ouadhah, who won the grand prize "Léopold Sédar Senghor" given by the 11th Dak'Art 2014, the Biennial of the Contemporary African Art in Dakar, said he was proud of this distinction given the level of participation and the quality of the exhibited works. Algerian artist whose painting "Entre nous" (Between us) attracted the interest of the visitors at the opening of the exhibition Saturday in Dakar, underlined his proud to win this event’s grand prize, tying with a Nigerian artist. Ouadhahi expressed his satisfaction with the event and the sense of creativity and initiative among the African artists. “This work is a prelude to an architectural work” and this painting is based on the traditional techniques of oil painting, said Driss Ouadahi about his painting which is present in the 11th Dak'Art 2014, to be held till June 8. The artist participated in several collective exhibitions in Germany, France, Morocco, Portugal and Algeria.
