
The Coptic Cultural Center in the Dutch capital Amsterdam organised a ceremony under the title "Love of Egypt" Wednesday night to honour Kuwait in recognition of its role in supporting Egypt and for maintaining good and brotherly relations with the Egyptian people. The Kuwait Embassy in a statement sent to KUNA today said the Coptic Bishop of the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg , Arsani, presented a symbolic gift to Counsellor Ali Salem al-Zaydi, Deputy Kuwaiti ambassador in the Netherlands. Zaydi expressed his thanks and appreciation to Bishop Arsani and the Egyptian community in the Netherlands for this generous initiative that reflected the authentic spirit of the Egyptian people. He noted that the position of the State of Kuwait towards Egypt was a real expression of close ties that combined the two countries, going back to a long and extended history. The Kuwaiti diplomat also expressed his belief in the ability of Egypt to overcome all the difficult circumstances and that Egypt, which is the center of intellectual and cultural radiation of the Arab nation, was able to return to the leadership role at the regional and international levels, and that the State of Kuwait and the Gulf states recalled fondly Egypt's efforts to support regional security and stability. Egyptian Ambassador to the Netherlands Taher Farhat and representatives of the embassies of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Russia and a large number of members of the Arab and Egyptian communities resident in the Netherlands as well of the Egyptian and local media attended the ceremony.
