Rome - ANSA

A piece of stone fell on Thursday from the facade of Rome's San Pietro in Vincoli church, which is famous for being the home of a Michelangelo statue of Moses. The minor basilica is one of the capital's oldest and most beautiful churches. It was consecrated in 439 after being built to host the relic of the chains that bound Saint Peter when he was imprisoned in Jerusalem. It has undergone many restorations since.
