Mosques in the UK are to open their doors to the public in an attempt to reach out to British citizens, the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) said.
The MCB stated that the event would take place in all mosques across the country on Sunday.
Members of the community are there to get to know one another better and some may be on hand to answer questions about Muslims and Islam where this is possible," the council said in a statement Mosques will also be inviting inter-faith leaders as well, so as to come together to demonstrate unity and solidarity during what has been a tense time for faith communities," the MCB revealed.
According to the Muslim Council, the event "is part of a national initiative by Muslims to reach out to fellow Britons following tensions around terrorism." The open day was praised by UK Muslims who deemed it a chance to view Islam in a clearer way.
