The 22nd Doha International Book Fair is set to open on December 12 with hundreds of publishers and bookshops from some 24 Arab, Asian and Western countries participating. The Fair is to be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage at the Doha Exhibition Centre, it was announced at a press conference here yesterday. Some 456 participants from Qatar, Austria, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, Japan, Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iran, India, the United States, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Kuwait, Bahrain, Morocco, Sweden, Sudan, Syria, the UK and France, will bring latest editions of books published in their respective countries. Apart from books, top writers from the Arab world will share their experiences with participants throughout the event. Iran is the "owner participant" of the fair this year. (QNA) LY
