
The second edition of Al Basta Market was launched in the Southern Governorate today under the auspices of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.The market is supported by Tamkeen and aims to promote Bahraini entrepreneurs, as well as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).The opening ceremony was attended by Supreme Council for Youth and Sport First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletic Association Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Southern Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, diplomats, RCO officials and industrial establishments’ representatives.Shaikh Nasser stated that Al Basta Market is a project to develop and support private sector establishments and SMEs, in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's directives to achieve the Kingdom’s development goals.He affirmed that the market is a push forward for Bahraini youth and entrepreneurs who can benefit from the income they gain from the market in order to improve their products and widen their businesses.During its first day, the market witnessed a huge turnout of visitors who praised the organisers for their efforts in organising the event.The Southern Governor thanked Shaikh Nasser for patronising the event’s second edition which is organised on a bigger area and witnessed wider participation from Bahraini youth.The event’s patron received a memento from Shaikh Abdulla at the end of the ceremony.
