
The Ministry of Culture is stepping up efforts to revive Bab Al-Bahrain, revitalise its cultural momentum and promote its status as a tourism destination attraction. Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa today visited the iconic area, in the company of Traffic Director-General Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa and Works Ministry Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro.
The inspection visit aims at coordinating efforts to ensure the smooth flow of the traffic iconic zone and accommodate visitors and tourists.
The minister stressed the importance of stepping up cooperation between all relevant parties and establishments to preserve local identity, stressing the importance of restoring Bab Al-Bahrain and the surrounding areas for their historic and social importance. The inspection visit came in the aftermath of the tripartite meeting which was held last week between the minister, the Traffic director-general and the Works Ministry Assistant Undersecretary.
