Attempt to steal 2 cemeteries in Aswan thwarted

Tourism and antiquities police have foiled an attempt to steal two cemeteries dated back to the 26th dynasty in Aga Khan area on the west bank at the Upper Egyptian governorate of Aswan.
Security bodies managed to arrest eight persons, with parts of a coffin and a mummy in possession.
All legal measures were taken against them. The prosecution was notified to launch an investigation into the incident.
