A tuba player performs Christmas carols and songs during the 41st annual Tuba Christmas 2014 event next to the Robson Square ice rink in Vancouver, Canada, Dec.21, 2014. This unusual Christmas tradition is firmly established in over 200 cities around the world. Conceived by tuba virtuoso Harvey Phillips to honor his teacher, the late William J. Bell, the first Tuba Christmas event was presented at Rockefeller Center in New York in 1974.
