Three Malaysians have been accused of supporting terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and al- Sham (ISIS) through providing funds or leaving the country to join the militants fighting in Iraq and Syria, court sources said on Tuesday.
Two men were brought to over charges of providing funds to support terrorist group through a blog, court sources said.
Financial consultant Rohaimi Abd Rahim, 37, and car salesman Muhamad Fauzi Misrak, 34, were brought to Malaysia's Session Court Tuesday. They were accused of funding ISIS through their blog Revolusi Islam between March 29 and Oct. 13.
Meanwhile, a cake store-assistant was also charged in the Sepang Sessions Court with traveling to Syria to aid the ISIS during Dec. 28 last year and April 7 this year.
The penalty for the charge is life imprisonment by up to 30 years, with a fine or confiscation of any assets suspected of being used for terrorist activities, according to court sources.
