The 11th edition of the International Award of Syed Junaid Alam Quran recitation was today given the ahead. His Majesty’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa patronized the ceremony. He commended Bahrain’s dedicated efforts to promote the Holy Book of Quran and disseminate its precepts. Participants representing 54 countries are taking part in the contest, being organized by The Holy Quran Custody Society. The Holy Quran Custody Society chairman Isaac Al-Kooheji said the six-member jury would start receiving the contenders on November 28. He revealed that the qualifications would open on December 1 and run until December 4. The final ceremony will be held on December 5 at the Ahmed Al-The Islamic Centre.
