Sanaa - KUNA
Yemen Saturday resumed crude oil exports after operations were suspended in the wake of sabotage acts against a pipeline in the northern Maareb province, the oil ministry said. Engineers, accompanied by army forces, have been repairing the pipeline which was bombed by tribal gunmen last last Thursday, the ministry said in a statement. At first the tribal gunmen opened fire at the engineers to prevent them from repairing the pipeline. A military force was called and forced the gunmen to escape. Meanwhile, the interior ministry named five persons accused of bombing the pipeline. The oil ministry said sabotage acts against pipelines in Maareb were inflicing national economy around USD 360 million each month.
