S-Oil picked as main bidder for Australian oil firm

S-Oil Corp., South Korea's third-largest refiner, was selected as a preferred bidder for a partial stake in Australian oil firm United Petroleum, the company said Wednesday. The company has vied against other South Korean firms, including its bigger rival SK Innovation Co., for stakes to explore markets overseas. S-Oil submitted a preliminary bid last November.
