Seoul - Yonhap
South Korea's average gasoline price surged 12.8 percent on-year in 2011, fueled by a sharp rise in crude import costs, a state-run oil company said Wednesday. The Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC) said a liter of gasoline cost consumers a little over 1,929 won (US$1.68) last year, up from an average of 1,710 won in 2010. In 2010, the average gasoline price rose 6.85 percent from 1,600 won per liter tallied in 2009.
