Islamabad - KUNA

Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesman Moazzam Khan on Thursday said that the Pakistan-Iran oil pipeline project was in the interest of the country and President Asif Ali Zardari would be travelling to Iran on March 11. Earlier, US has shown his reservations on the pipeline project, saying that Pakistan might have to bear the sanctions for the project. In the weekly briefing of Foreign Office the spokesman said the heads of several countries would be present at the signing ceremony and hoped that all friendly countries including the US would understand Pakistan's economic needs. The energy crisis in Pakistan was leading to economic disparity, he added.
