Oil demand to pick up speed

Global oil demand will grow at a rate of 1.2 per cent in 2014, rising from this year's 0.9 per cent on the back of an overall economic recovery, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Forecast Wednesday. The world would need 90.7 million barrels per day (bpd) next year, 1 million bpd above this year's level, the Vienna-based club of major producers said in its first outlook for 2014, DPA quoted the Forecast as saying
