Tripoli - Agencies
Libya's oil and gas production are gradually returning to their pre war levels, according to Al Jazeera,   Reporting from an oil rig off the coast of Libya, their reporter points to the fact that many oil-producing facilities are up and running after being abandoned during the civil war last year, which started with the outbreaks of protests against long time ruler Muammer Gaddafi in the east, and concluded with his death in October 2011. Getting the oil sector back on track was a one of the main and most pressing issues priority for the NTC, Libya's interim government. However the future of the industry remains unclear. Much investment will be needed in the sector to modernise it and boost production. The same can be said for the infrastructure and the rebuilding process of the whole country, which was neglected for 42 years under the former strongman. Libyan oil output levels of 1.6m a day before outbreaks of hostilities began in late February 2011.
