Standard Chartered to pay $340m over Iran probe

Standard Chartered on Tuesday agreed to settle US allegations that it helped Iranian clients dodge sanctions, accepting a fine of $340 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. The bank had denied allegations that it systematically hid $250 million worth of Iranian client transactions that were carried out over ten years.
