Dubai - WAM

Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, today strengthened its long-term partnership with Dubai Police by offering the bank’s credit card holders a convenient way to pay their traffic fines.
The partnership agreement signed by Dubai Police and Emirates NBD on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week saw the bank launching an exclusive zero percent instalment plan that enables credit card customers to pay traffic fines in interest free instalments from three months to a year.
The long-term partnership was inked today at a ceremony where Ahmed Al Marzouqi, General Manager - Retail Distribution, Emirates NBD, and Lt. Colonel Naeem Mohammad Al Katib, Director of Revenue Department, Dubai Police, signed the agreement.
Speaking on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Al Marzouqi said, "Our partnership with Dubai Police reflects Emirates NBD’s commitment to understand and respond to the evolving needs of our customers. The introduction of this unique facility provides our customers with a quick and efficient way of clearing their traffic penalties, whilst facilitating significant savings and payment flexibility. We are confident that the newly launched service, which is in line with the Government’s initiative to transform Dubai into a smart city, will prove to be extremely beneficial to motorists in the emirate." The partnership is in keeping with the Dubai Smart City initiative, which promotes increased usage of digital channels such as mobile and online platforms. To take advantage of the facility, Emirates NBD customers are required to download the Dubai Police app through which traffic fines can be paid. Once downloaded, credit card holders can choose to convert the payments into zero percent instalments over 3, 6 or 12 months.
Lt. Colonel Naeem Mohammad Al Katib said, "Emirates NBD is considered one of the nation’s leading institutions, in addition to being one of the largest banks in the region. The partnership between the General Command of Dubai Police and Emirates NBD has a distinguished history and a strong track record of delivering results since it was formed in the 1980s.
"Today, we are reaping the benefits of this partnership by launching yet another service to residents which is in keeping with the Government’s initiative, delivered under the guidance of our wise leadership, to transform Dubai into a Smart City. Emirates NBD always seeks to be ahead in adapting to latest technologies, in addition to being one of the first banks that has provided various channels to pay traffic fines, whether online or via its ATMs. The instalment plan for traffic fine payments is a part of the service provided by Dubai Police for customers which allows them to choose the most appropriate way to complete transactions at their convenience." Today’s announcement is latest in a series of initiatives that Emirates NBD has launched in partnership with Dubai Police. The bank, in collaboration with Dubai Police, launched ‘Fight Against Fraud,’ a public service campaign that was introduced in 2012, to raise awareness about financial fraud in the U.A.E..
In addition, the bank has also launched a series of exclusive offers on its banking products and services for Dubai Police staff.
