BOK to keep close tabs on low inflation trend

South Korea's central bank said Monday that it will closely monitor the trend of low inflation and make efforts to bring consumer prices back into its inflation target band over the mid- and long term. The Bank of Korea (BOK) said in a monetary policy report to parliament that the consumer prices will go back to its 2.5 percent to 3.5 percent inflation target band as effects of low oil and farm prices and free child care programs fade out.
