South Korea to develop unmanned aerial vehicles for private use

South Korea on Wednesday unveiled plans to develop large unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for civilian use, such as logistics and environment monitoring. Currently, civilian UAVs are limited to 150 kilograms or 0.15 ton in weight, with the government's research program focusing mostly on military aircraft.
