South Korea aims to join top-5 ICT equipment powerhouses by 2017

South Korea aims to join the ranks of the world's top-5 ICT equipment-producing countries by 2017 by focusing development on key products, the country's ministry in charge of information and communications technology (ICT) said Wednesday. The country's ICT equipment sector, which currently ranks 10th in the world, is an important segment that accounts for more than two-thirds of the overall ICT industry.
