Celebrities on social media websites have managed to create their own bizarre world and life, and live it.
Their way of speaking and sense of fashion distinguishes them from the rest and makes them very popular, followed by a large group of activists in this virtual world.
Radio broadcaster at MBC FM Yasser Shamrani pointed out during an interview with a local publication that some of these celebrities on social networks have become moving advertisements, displaying the products of different companies in exchange for money.
He said that many of these people try to draw attention through strange actions, intended to increase their fan and follower base, and compete to become stars in the virtual world.
Social worker Adel Al-Ghamdi said some people may reach the top and be famous on various social networks not through their culture or by creating something useful for the community.
“Some of these people have become famous by accident, or by deliberately using some strange methods to draw public attention,” he said.
