Windows 8 will launch with no "start button" on the home screen in a manner that is different from the typical interface, said Windows blogger Paul Thurrott. These interface modifications are an attempt by Windows to change the home screen which has not been altered since Windows 95 had been released in 1995, Thurrott told the CNN. Microsoft aims at applying new systems under the name of Metro Interfaces Start Screen which is based on new ways of reaching information and executing functions. It had announced earlier this month that to replace the start button, Microsoft will reportedly turn that space into a hot corner. Hovering the mouse or swiping over that spot will bounce users back and forth between the Metro User Interface (UI) and the desktop in an attempt to offer a more consistent experience between the two environments. The new system has been designed to operate efficiently with personal computers and tabs to face the challenges brought forward by competitor Apple's iPhone.
