LG Display Co. and Samsung Display Co., the world's two biggest display makers, said Monday that they will showcase their industry-leading technologies and state-of-the-art display prototypes at an annual industry fair in Canada, During the Society for Information Display's Display Week 2013, which runs in Vancouver from May 21 to 23, LG Display will show a 5-inch flexible OLED screen to be mounted on its smartphone, which is expected to hit the market later this year. LG Electronics, an affiliate of LG Electronics Inc., the country's No. 2 mobile phone maker after Samsung Electronics Inc., recently revealed the world's first curved OLED TV, staying ahead of the competition for the burgeoning OLED TV market and claiming bragging rights over its OLED technology.
