
President of Beirut's Lebanon University Adnan Sayyed Hussein appreciated Iran's initiative in expanding academic exchanges and scientific and technical cooperation with Lebanon. The Lebanese academician referred to the opening of a Persian Language and Literature Department at the Lebanon University as a good sign of bilateral academic cooperation in his Saturday meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi. The Lebanese professor said that heading a group of Lebanese academics, he had recently paid a visit to Iran and met with some officials of Ministry of Higher Education and presidents of many important universities of Iran. The president of Lebanese university referred to signing of memoranda of understanding with many Iranian universities and research centers and said these documents show determination in the two countries to develop bilateral scientific and technological cooperation. He told Iranian envoy that Lebanese University is ready to accept Iranian students at doctorate level.
