
KT Corp., the country's No.2 mobile carrier, won the highly sought-after spectrum bandwidth of 1.8GHz for 900 billion won (US$812 million) for its long-term evolution (LTE) mobile network service, the government said Friday. Its local rivals -- SK Telecom Co. and LG Uplus Corp. -- also won another bandwidth of the 1.8GHz spectrum for 1.05 trillion won and a bandwidth of 2.6GHz spectrum for 479 billion won, according to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.
