
Director-General of Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) Dr. Naji Al-Mutairi received on Wednesday visiting delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss a number of issues relating to civilian applications of the nuclear energy. The talks dealt with IAEA's initiative for rehabilitating and upgrading the nuclear laboratories complex in Seibersdorf, Vienna, Dr. Al-Mutairi told reporters after the meeting. "We have also discussed a number of issues relating to the technical cooperation with the agency," he said, appreciating the IAEA role in promoting nuclear safety around the globe. Meanwhile, Dr. Nader Al-Awadhi, KISR's executive commissioner for international cooperation, said during their stay here, the IAEA delegation met leaders of several state institutions concerned with the activities of the UN nuclear watchdog. "The visit has positive impacts on the technical cooperation and joint projects, Dr. Al-Awadhi added.
