
Italy has decided to complete the 1st phase of the radar control system project to the Yemeni coastguard police, Italian ambassador to Yemen said Monday. The radar control system is worth of €60 million funded by Italy and will be carried out on three phases. The 1st phase of the project has been halted due to the events erupted in the country early in 2011. During his meeting with Prime Minister Mohamed Salem Basindwa, Luciano Galli said that the executor Italian company of the project's 1st phase will resume its works this month. The Italian ambassador stressed his country's keenness to strengthen friendship ties with Yemen in all fields, topped by the security field which will enhance the Yemen's stability and sustainable development, underscoring that Italy always encourages Italian companies and capitals to invest in Yemen. The Prime Minister hailed the support of the Italian government to the stability and development paths in Yemen. Basindwa welcomed the Italian investments in the country, stressing that they will enjoy all facilities and merits.
