Hackers attack Ontario police site

The hacker group Anonymous says it hacked into the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Web site and obtained personal information on the group's members. Hackers opposed to Canada's proposed Internet surveillance bill say they accessed logins and passwords Friday for several administrators' accounts for the Web site, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. OACP spokesman Joe Couto said the association, which supports the surveillance legislation, is not intimidated by the hacking, the CBC reported. "I can ensure citizens of this province that police will continue to provide opinions to lawmakers on this and any other piece of legislation that comes forward that affects policing in this province," he said. "We pulled our site down so it's not accessible. It appears this was really meant to embarrass, to send a message to Ontario's police leaders."
