
Emirates Post Group has launched an Innovators’ Committee in line with the guidelines of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Award, with the goal of creating an institutional environment that uses creative ideas of employees for better productivity and organisational excellence.
Khalid Ibrahim Shahdoor, CEO of Information Technology and chairman of the Committee, said, "We strongly believe that human resources are the real capital of the Group. We must give employees the opportunity to share in the process of positive change through innovative ideas that would contribute to growth and development." He said the Group is preparing a clear methodology to allow innovative employees to participate in the development process by submitting their ideas through an online template, incorporating clear standards based on the aspirations of the group and strategy of the federal government. This will enable awarding of grades for innovative ideas strictly on merit, leading the Committee to make a final decision on the implementation of the idea, keep it on hold or reject it with full transparency and objectivity.
He stressed that the Committee will adopt advanced Intranet tools, allowing innovators to track the progress of their ideas, and allow the committee to communicate with the owners of ideas electronically to request more details through a reference number.
Fahad Al Hosani, Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group, said the formation of the Innovators’ Committee was in line with the Group’s vision to take up leadership locally and globally in the field of postal services and logistics, financial services. The initiative will facilitate rewarding the employees submitting workable innovative ideas as well as establish an innovators’ club that would include members from outside the Group with the common goal of raising standards.
