China launches 2 satellites for independent navigation system

China successfully launched another two satellites into space for its indigenous global navigation and positioning network on Wednesday morning, the launch center said. They were the 14th and 15th satellites for the Beidou system, or Compass system. The satellites, launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern Sichuan Province, were boosted by a Long March-3B carrier rocket.
