Two pit bulls were on the loose and six more were on the property in a Texas home where an 85-year-old woman was found dead, police said. Dorothy Hamilton of Kaufman, a small city about 20 miles east of Dallas, is believed to have been killed by the dogs. Her son found her body Monday afternoon. All eight dogs have been removed, police said. Kaufman police spokesman Capt. Ed Black said the son told investigators his dogs were staying at his mother's home temporarily but were being kept in a locked area. Police said the loose dogs apparently got through the door. Police Chief Dana Whitaker said the department had received complaints from neighbors about the dogs being loose in recent weeks. But he said no one complained that the dogs were dangerous.
