
Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova convicted for hooliganism has stopped her hunger strike on Tuesday, according to the press service of Russia’s Federal Penitentiary Service. “Today at 11.00 convicted Nadezhda Tolokonnikova stopped the hunger strike and started eating. Currently Tolokonnikova’s health condition is stable. Routine diagnostic and treatment activities are conducted. Due to the prolonged hunger strike, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova has been put on diet,” the Penitentiary Service reported. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova announced a hunger strike September 23. The convicted Pussy Riot member currently serving time in a penal colony, has complained about threat to her life, reportedly due to refusal to transfer her to another detachment. “September 23 Tolokonnikova was present at breakfast. Announcement of a hunger strike was made at 11:45am,” the Penitentiary Service said, adding that Tolokonnikova is located at the colony with clothing manufacture being the primary production process; that’s where the majority of inmates are employed at.
