
The Counselling and Guidance Department at the Supreme Council for Women (SCW)’s Support Centre for Women organised, from October 27 to 31, a training session on “Listening to Victims of Family Violence among Women”, as part of the series of training sessions held once a month by within its Supportive Assistance Programme throughout the year .The session, in which psychological and family couselling expert Dr. Bana Bu Zaboon lectured, aimed to achieve professional development for employees in dealing directly with beneficiaries in order to achieve the goals of the National Strategy for the Advancement of Bahraini Women. It also aimed to enable the participants to adopt unified visions on ways of combating all forms of family violence. The session also focused on the concepts of “Listening” and all forms and effects of family violence, as well as the rights and duties of victims of family violence among women. Employees of the SCW’s Secretariat-General and social specialists in governorates and ministries of Health, Interior, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Social Development and Education participated in the training session.
