Comedian Mindy Kaling, Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'O and new mom Chelsea Clinton were among the honorees during Monday's Glamour Women of The Year 2014 event at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The magazine's award show ceremony honors the celebrities, politicians, local leaders and athletes who helped empower and inspire women throughout the year.
According to Glamour, Kaling made the cut because of her "comic voice" while Nyong'O was honored for her strides in redefining success and beauty. Clinton was awarded for her dedication in solving the world's most complex problems and Sylvia Earle made the list for being the face of marine biology.
Other honorees of the night included news anchor Robin Roberts, ambassador Samantha Power, actress Laverne Cox, russian model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, fashion designer Sarah Burton and female empowerment organizations The Girl Project and The Bravest Girls in the World.
