Mentally challenged girl raped, murdered in north India

A mentally challenged minor girl was allegedly murdered after being raped in a village near the Indian capital Friday, said police. The crime took place in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district where the 10-year-old girl was strangulated to death. Her family has alleged that she was murdered after being raped and the body has been sent for post mortem. Violence against minor girls takes place frequently in India, especially in rural areas.
