Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, watched on as she carried out the tradition, which dates back to 1901. The couple visited the mess hall and had lunch with soldiers after the parade. The Daily Record reports that Kate and William were cheered and toasted with cans of lager and Irish sherry by those in attendance.
