EU urges women empowerment in Egypt

EU delegation chief in Cairo James Moran asserted on Monday that respecting women’s rights as a whole is the way to achieve successful transition in Egypt and other countries in the Middle East. Women should be given the opportunity to play an important role in the society and the economy, Moran told a conference on women empowerment. Asked if the EU is currently playing a mediation role to resolve the current crisis in Egypt, Moran denied, saying that Egyptian themselves should do this.
