A 28-year-old Chicago woman was charged with attempted murder for allegedly beating up an elderly man after a minor traffic accident, police said. Pedestrian Sophia Bod was arrested Thursday night on the South Side after she allegedly pulled the 82-year-old motorist from his car and struck him in the head repeatedly. A second woman, age 38, was questioned in the incident but had not been charged with any crime as of Sunday, the Chicago Tribune said. According to police, Body angrily admitted beating the man after he apparently bumped one of the women with his car, the Tribune reported. The victim said he had been flagged down by the pair and was dragged from his car when he stopped to see if he could help them. The man suffered cuts on his head and back and was hospitalized in stable condition this weekend.
