Body of Dutch woman found in her flat after 10 years

Dutch police discovered in Rotterdam the body of a woman who lay dead in her house for 10 years, Dutch media reported Friday. The police officers discovered her body after construction workers rang her doorbell. When nobody answered they warned the police. When officers arrived, they saw at the door a pile of unopened mail dating back 10 years. According to the police, the 74-year-old woman died a natural death. The ombudsman for elderly people expressed fears that incidents such as this one are more and more likely to happen in the Netherlands.
