A 26-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped after being abducted by five men near a railway station in the northern Indian city of Chhattisgarh, said police on Sunday. Police have arrested the five suspects in the city's Durg district, after the crime took place early Saturday morning, police officer Chhaoni SP Ravindra Upadhyay told Press Trust of India. This took place a few days after a young woman photojournalist was gang raped by five men in Mumbai. A policewoman was also reportedly gang raped last week in the eastern state of Jharkhand. After the crime, the accused fled from there leaving the woman in a semi-conscious state. When locals noticed the woman on Saturday morning, they called up an ambulance and informed police, following which she was rushed to hospital for treatment of injuries.
