Minister of Education Hilaly Sherbiny
Cairo - MENA

Minister of Education Hilaly Sherbiny on Monday met with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to follow up the application of the Japanese experience in Egyptian schools.

This falls within the framework of activating Egyptian-Japanese partnership to develop education in the country.

The two sides agreed to organize a three-day workshop on September 19-21 that will include sessions by a Japanese education expert to review the activities and the programs of "Tokatsu" project which is set to be applied at Egyptian schools.

The meeting took up the implementation of a project to construct 100 primary schools as of 2017, along with preparing and upgrading 100 schools on the lines of Japanese schools during the educational year 2016/2017.

Also, they tackled training and giving teachers first hand information about the activities of Tokatsu that aims at achieving development in the education sector, as well as striking a social, emotional and academic balance among children.
