Kuwaiti ministry of higher education
London - KUNA

The British Government approved granting an additional 100 seats for Kuwaiti medical students for the next academic year, a Kuwaiti official announced Tuesday.
"Beneficiaries will include those wishing to study medicine, dentistry and pharmacology," said Maysara Al-Falah, assistant undersecretary for scholarships, credit transfer and cultural affairs at the Kuwaiti ministry of higher education.
Her statement to KUNA came on the sideline of the fourth session of the joint British-Kuwaiti Steering Group, which concluded earlier today.
The ministry will offer up to 6,000 scholarships for other majors in British colleges and schools in 2014-15, she added.
On facilitations for student visas, Al-Falah noted that an agreement with the British side is established so that all students' names accepted in the ministry's scholarship plan are to be sent through email to the UK Border Agency.
She also revealed that a meeting between a number of Kuwaiti and British research institutions will be held in Kuwait next September.
A number of workshops, conferences and meeting are to be co-organized between the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance in Kuwait and the British Standards Institution.
Moreover, the British side made an agreement with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters to hold a number of festivals and fairs in both countries, Al-Falah said
