Twelve high school students were killed when a bus fell into a 90-metre ravine in the northern Philippines, dpa quoted police as saying Wednesday.
The students were on their way home from school in Buguias town of Benguet province, 230 kilometres north of Manila, said Superintendent Davy Vicente Lim-mong, a regional police spokesman.
The bus was negotiating an uphill portion of the road when it began to slide backwards and plunged into the ravine, Lim-mong said.
