The National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad announced that Syria will participate with national teams in a number of forthcoming international Olympiads in the subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry and IT. Head of the Commission, Imad Muwafaq al-Azb, pointed out in a statement that in two national teams international will take part in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Bulgaria and another one in Colombia. The national teams in physics, chemistry and IT will participate in the Olympiads due to be held in Denmark, Russia and Australia respectively. Al-Azb noted that the Commission and the Central Scientific Committee have already set qualification and training programs for the teams that are to participate in the international Olympiads, which are scheduled to be held in the coming five months.
